Storage

Our success in processing and transporting cryopreserved specimens has led to the birth of New England Cell Repository (NECR), a division of NECC dedicated to long-term storage of human cells and tissue.   

Designed to serve as a valuable resource to the medical community, NECR allows medical and research facilities to outsource storage of sperm, embryos, stem cells, bone marrow and other tissue, recovering on-site space for  laboratories or other more cost-effective purposes. 

At our state-of-the-art, secure storage facility in Newton, Massachusetts, we can store any number of vials, straws, bags, boxes or tanks.  Our fully automated storage tank system is under constant 24-hour surveillance and currently holds more than 385,000 cryogenically preserved specimens.   For infected specimens, our vapor storage tanks provide dry storage, preventing the possibility of cross-contamination.
